The Easterhouse Campus

Large investment in the Easterhouse building Easterhouse campus and the Bridge. in the last year means that the campus now boasts a range of sustainable and energy-efficient features, including photo-voltaic cells and a wind turbine to offset energy costs.

Delivering a wide range of programmes including Hairdressing & Beauty, Computing, Supported Learning, Photography, Sound Engineering, Art & Design, Hospitality & Catering and Business related subjects, the new building has a crèche and excellent student facilities. Students also have access to the resources based at The Bridge.

The College also provides a wide range of cultural industryrelated programmes from The Bridge, including Sound Engineering, Music Production and the NC Creative Arts & Technologies as well as a range of technical theatre-related skills. Each programme is resourced with state-of-the-art technologies which help our students to improve their skills and ensure that their learning experience is as industryrelevant as it can be. The superbly equipped sound engineering labs, recording studios and rehearsal rooms provide exceptional facilities for our students.

At the Culture & Sport - Glasgow Library and Real Centre, full library facilities are available with reference resources and text books (as well as the usual quality reading stock you would expect from your local library). There is also an appropriately supervised Learning Centre which is equipped with up to the minute computer technologies and online learning opportunities.

The Easterhouse Swimming Pool has been completely refurbished and this brand new facility is accessible from The Bridge. The building has been updated to include a range of leisure facilities.

Platform is the aspirational new arts facility, run by Greater Easterhouse Arts Company, sited within The Bridge and includes:

  • 200 seat auditorium
  • rehearsal studio
  • practice rooms
  • space for visual arts & crafts
  • The College uses these exciting spaces for a range of activities such as displays of students’ work, jewellery exhibitions and end-of-year showcases of students’ skills.

    All of these facilities are available to students and the community to encourage access to and participation in the arts & cultural industries. This stimulating space is a haven for artists and exhibits, touring productions and installation artworks. Platform is also home to the National Theatre of Scotland Young Company and local dance performance company, Visual Statement.

    The Bridge has deservedly won a range of prestigious awards in the last few years for the innovative design of the building and also for the positive image and ethos of partnership working which it illustrates.
