The East End Campus

With a capacity for 800 full-time students, the exciting East End campus attracts learners mainly from East Glasgow. Located close to the Forge Shopping Centre, it is convenient for rail and bus transport.

Completed in 2007, the bright new building is fully accessible, with a wide range of resources and assistive technologies to support students with disabilities. For more information on the accessibility of each campus, you can visit www.disabledgo.info. In addition, as part of the new East End Regeneration Route, this development represents a true commitment to the Clyde Gateway Initiative.

Designed as a community resource for the East End, the campus includes facilities for the delivery of programmes in a wide range of vocational and core skill areas from introductory level up to HNCs and Access to Higher Education. As well as the provision of Computing, Business, Art & Design, Catering and Care programmes in the East End, this new building also has fully equipped facilities to deliver Hairdressing, Child Care, Sound Engineering and Construction and allied skills.

The building sports a state-of-the-art library and a child care facility (which the public can access) and uses innovative hardwired and wireless information and communications technology systems. These provide learning opportunities and access to Higher Education for the East End and all Glasgow residents. East End campus overview.

A key feature of the exciting new campus is its sustainable development philosophy which encompasses an energy efficient approach to water supply and recycling, heating, ventilation and insulation using ‘green’ technologies.

Students, staff and members of the public are exposed to new, more eco-friendly working, learning and living practices. All of this helps to prepare local residents for some of the practicalities of living and working in a ‘low carbon’ environment.

The building occupies a landscape of natural meadowland which will encourage the growth of plant species indigenous to this part of Scotland and requires minimal intervention. This provides an eco-friendly amenity area for the local community and promotes local biodiversity.

Our spectacular building is now a magnet for the community’s learners. College staff and the Board of Management are delighted that many Glasgow residents can look forward to learning in one of the city’s finest and most

You could be one of them!
