The College is continually developing its Disability Equality Scheme and Action Plan and working towards achieving disability equality with the involvement of disabled people. The College revised its Disability Equality Scheme in October 2007 and it sets out how we integrate disability equality into all that we do.
With your involvement we have just published our second Disability Annual Report, 4 December 2009. The Report sets out the progress that has been made towards the College's goal of achieving substantive equality for disabled people, including progress on eliminating discrimination, promoting equality of opportunity and meeting targets; the results of the year's information-gathering - what information has been obtained and what it indicates; range of work undertaken and work that is underway; plans for the on-going development of the College's DES and Action Plan; and the College's continuing commitment to disability equality and how the disability equality agenda will be moved forward.
One of our involvement mechanisms is to hold regular events which involve disabled people in the review and development of our functions and services. These events are publicised in advance in the College on noticeboards/Reception points, in our Newsletter and on our website. We continually strive to meet the needs of all our stakeholders and you can help to achieve this aim. If you would like to contribute to the on-going development of the College's Disability Equality Scheme and Action Plan or you would like to comment on disability issues which impact on disabled people in relation to the College either as an employer or service provider please contact us.
