Governance: Policies & Equalities - Gender Equality Scheme

The College would like to work with staff, students, clients, contractors, partners and stakeholders and take account of their views, knowledge and experience in the development of its Gender Equality Scheme and Action Plan. This approach means that males, females, transgender and transsexuals will help the College to shape the way in which it will prioritise and deal with gender equality. Gender Equality Scheme implementation Schedule

The Gender Equality Scheme (GES) 2010 - 2013 which the Board of Management of John Wheatley College produced in partnership with learners, staff, partners, members of its recognised Trade Unions and Professional Association, external agencies and other stakeholders. The purpose of this revised Gender Equality Scheme and Action Plan is to demonstrate the actions taken by the College to promote and implement gender equality and to indicate clearly how the College will continue to address the general and specific duties derived from the Sex Discrimination Act 1975, amended by the Equality Act 2006 which introduced the Gender Equality Duty. The College’s Gender Equality Scheme applies to all learners, staff, partnership organisations, contractors and service providers.
