Introductory Programmes for Lifelong Learning |
If you feel you would like to return to education but are unsure of what you want to study, John Wheatley College might hold the answer.
The College offers a range of programmes which are gateways to learning, equipping you with basic core skills, study skills and personal development sessions to boost your confidence and capabilities. Most of these programmes will help students to eventually take part in the mainstream curriculum, and others feed directly into specific vocational skill areas.
We have programmes which cater mainly for adult returners, some of which school leavers may find attractive and others which may be suitable for those students with literacy problems or with learning disabilities who will require supported learning. Full-time, part-time and flexible learning programmes – it’s up to you. So, no matter how big that first step seems, John Wheatley College is here to help you through it.
For Asylum Seekers and Migrant Workers, we also deliver English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) together with a unit on Citizenship.
The following programmes are introductory level (Access 3/Intermediate 1) programmes which will equip you with appropriate study skills and help you progress directly into specific vocational skills areas:
