Qualifications |
Firstly, remember that you don't need qualifications to come on to many of the introductory programmes at John Wheatley College!
However, if you DO have previous qualifications or work experience, this will be taken into account when you're choosing your level of study.
So what qualifications do we offer? Most of our programmes lead to qualifications awarded by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). These vocational qualifications take account of the needs of employers and the jobs available in today's labour market, as well as letting you enter higher education (H.E.) institutions. SQA provides the qualification for Higher National Certificate (HNC), National Unit (NQ programmes) and Scottish Vocational Qualifications.
Our portfolio of programmes can be studied at a variety of levels - Access level 2 and 3, National Qualification, Higher National Certificate, Access to Higher Education and Professional Development Awards.
The following learning grid shows how a student can progress from one qualification to another, and what each level is equivalent to.
