John Wheatley College is committed to providing the opportunity for students to access education and training to suit their abilities and interests. The College has a wide range of support measures available to all students and has specific resources available to assist the groups listed below.

- Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties
Students with disabilities are recommended to contact the Advice/Guidance team directly or through their tutor to arrange an interview as early as possible.
The College has a centralised Student Curriculum Support Service, which provides extra help where required.
At an interview curriculum choices and additional support needs can be discussed and arranged. This service is strictly confidential and aims to support students with a Learning Disability, Physical Disability, Visual/Hearing Impairment, Mobility Problem, Dyslexia or any other health problem and those who will require additional support to learn.
The College may be able to help students access specialist equipment, additional tutorials, additional financial support and assistance with transport to allow them to complete their programme of study.
Physical Access
The College fully supports students who have movement, hearing or visual impairment.
Lifts are available in both main buildings (Easterhouse and East End).
Closed loop induction for hearing impaired people is available in certain rooms within the College – check with your tutor.
Range of Additional Support Measures
The range and level of support provided will vary significantly. John Wheatley College has an extensive range of assistive technologies and software that is available on loan to students during their studies. Students on a Higher Education programme may also apply for the Disabled Student Allowance from the Scottish Awards Agency for Scotland. This allowance enables students to purchase resources to support their learning.
